Shamil Ayrim, member of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey and head of the Azerbaijan-Turkey Friendship Group, made a landmark statement regarding the return to Western Azerbaijan.
Speaking at the 1st International Conference 'Return to Western Azerbaijan: As a New Stage of the National Idea,' Ayrim emphasized that today the Western Azerbaijan issue is a matter of history and identity.
He noted that the Turkic world must correctly present the Western Azerbaijan issue and continue efforts in this direction.
'The Karabakh war became a symbol of awakening in the Turkic world. These truths should be strengthened in universities, media, and international platforms,' Ayrim said.
Shamil Ayrim stressed: 'The children of those exiled from Göyçe will return to their ancestral lands. This is not a confrontation but the foundation of long-term peace.'
He called on Armenian society not to fear: 'People's return to their homes is their right. The deportation story is a matter of conscience for the entire Turkic world.'
