President Ilham Aliyev visited the village of Shukurbayli in the Jabrayil district on May 9 and spoke with residents.
The head of state noted that the village has been completely rebuilt: "During the occupation, Armenia destroyed the village, not a single building remained intact. Now there is a school, music school, two kindergartens, a medical center, and beautiful houses."
Aliyev emphasized that during the occupation, the Armenians razed Jabrayil to the ground, looting and selling stones. Azerbaijan liberated the lands and is now rebuilding.
Currently, several thousand people live in the Jabrayil district. 635 houses have been built, and over 900 people want to return. A second phase is planned.
For employment, 200 hectares have been allocated in the "Araz Valley" Industrial Zone, with 20 residents already starting production.
