Georgia's Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Tamar Ioseliani, emphasized the strategic importance of the Middle Corridor at the 18th annual meeting of TRACECA in Astana.
She highlighted the role of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway line. The project's completion has increased East-West cargo transportation.
Georgia plans to attract $7 billion in transport infrastructure investments by 2032.
In 2025, container traffic at Georgian ports grew by 20%, and by rail by 14%. Overall traffic along the Middle Corridor increased by 33%.
The meeting transferred TRACECA chairmanship to Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan's former deputy transport minister Choriyev Jasurbek was elected Secretary General.
