U.S. President Donald Trump has sent a letter to participants of the Baku Energy Week.
The letter was read by Caleb Orr, Assistant Secretary of the Bureau of Economic, Energy and Business Affairs, during the opening of the 31st International Caspian Oil and Gas Exhibition, the 14th Caspian International Clean Energy Exhibition, and the 31st Baku Energy Forum.
Trump emphasized Azerbaijan's leadership in energy security: "This achievement is proof of Azerbaijan's leadership qualities in the energy sector."
He noted U.S. support for Azerbaijan's oil and gas industry and said the importance of energy partnership will only grow.
The letter also touched on the peace process with Armenia: "When we met at the White House, we achieved a long-term peace. Regional energy integration is a key pillar of the peace summit."
