UN official: Urbanization is devouring nature

A UN official stated at the 13th session of the World Urban Forum in Baku that unplanned urbanization is consuming natural resources and agricultural land.

Anaclaudia Rossbach, Executive Director of UN-Habitat, warned that this threatens food security and climate resilience.

“Proper land management is critical for sustainable development,” she emphasized.
