Israel and Lebanon have extended the ceasefire for another 45 days. Talks mediated by the US took place on May 14-15.

Lebanon has filed a complaint with the UN against Iran, accusing it of interfering in its internal affairs and dragging it into conflict with Israel.

Hezbollah is weakened. After the killing of Hassan Nasrallah, the group's influence has diminished. Lebanon officially blames Iran for its sovereignty crisis.

The US aims to build a new security architecture in the region. Israel sees this as a strategic opportunity.
