European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen congratulated President Ilham Aliyev on the initialing of a historic peace agreement.

According to AZERTAC, Oxu.Az reports that these words were said during a press statement.

Von der Leyen stated: 'First of all, of course, what is happening in this region is the peace process. I would like to congratulate you on initialing a historic peace agreement today.'

She also emphasized that the President's personal leadership paves the way for establishing peace, stability, trust, and shared prosperity in the region.
