The Executive Director of the UN Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), Anaclaudia Rossbach, stated that water cannot be separated from urbanization.
According to Oxu.Az, she made these remarks at an event held within the World Urban Forum (WUF13).
Rossbach emphasized: "Since water flows cross borders, robust management mechanisms are needed. Working with local governments and considering water as a core resource is essential."
She noted that housing is a key factor, and people in cities suffer from water scarcity.
"Water, urbanization, housing, informal settlements, and the role of local actors are inseparable," Rossbach added.
