Anar Guliyev, Chairman of the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture, stated that the "award" class="internal-tag-link">Baku Urban Award" is created to address shortcomings.

According to Oxu.Az, he made these remarks during the presentation of the "Baku Urban Award" initiative at the World Urban Forum (WUF13).

The awards will be evaluated by experts in housing finance, climate science, and civil society, and will be balanced across different regions of the world.

Guliyev noted: "The problem with the Sustainable Development Goals is that many solutions remain overly local, insufficiently visible, and unshared."
