Within the framework of UN's World Urban Forum 13 (WUF13), the Baku Initiative Group (BIG) will hold an international conference on May 20, 2026, in Baku. The topic: "The role of youth in urban planning during decolonization".
The conference marks the first international event of the Global South Youth Platform, created by youth from various countries. The UN Youth Office will also be represented.
Delegates from 22 countries, including young researchers, international law experts, healthcare professionals, and student leaders, will participate.
Discussions will focus on combating colonialism and neocolonialism, strengthening networks, and fostering international solidarity.
On May 19, BIG will also organize a side event on "Injustices caused by colonial governance and the housing crisis".
