The Zangazur Corridor will not only restore direct land communication between mainland Azerbaijan and Nakhchivan but also serve as a strategic line connecting east-west and north-south international transport corridors.

This was stated by Vahid Hajiyev, special representative of the President of Azerbaijan for Jabrayil, Gubadli, and Zangilan districts.

He spoke at the event "From Urbicide to Revival: Sustainable Reconstruction, Resettlement and Development in Azerbaijan's Liberated Territories" held at the Azerbaijan Pavilion within the framework of WUF.

Hajiyev emphasized that one of the most important strategic directions of the reconstruction process is the Zangazur Corridor.

"Historically located on the Silk Road, this territory served as a crucial bridge between Europe and Asia. Today, Karabakh and East Zangazur are once again becoming a key regional connectivity hub through the development of east-west and north-south international transport corridors," he said.

The Horadiz-Aghband highway and railway line are almost completed.

The implementation of the Zangazur Corridor will create a circular railway network in the region and increase Azerbaijan's annual cargo transportation potential by approximately 15 million tons.

The already operational Zangilan International Airport will also significantly improve cargo mobility, connectivity, and investor access.

Hajiyev noted that even before the corridor is fully completed, logistics, manufacturing, and industrial companies show serious interest in the region.
