A 5.2 magnitude earthquake has been recorded in China's Sichuan province.

According to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre, the epicenter was located 311 km west of Xiongchang, a city with a population of about 118,000.

The quake had a depth of 10 km.

No reports of casualties or damage have been received so far.
