A 6.8 magnitude earthquake struck Chile's mining hub, the Antofagasta region.
The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre reported the quake at 17:52 local time (01:52 Baku time).
Epicenter was 25 km from Calama (pop. 140,000) at a depth of 103 km.
State miner Codelco halted some operations due to low visibility and power outages, while BHP and Antofagasta said no impact.
No injuries reported, but Calama residents faced power and water cuts. Landslides occurred in some areas.
