Six Georgian nationals have been sentenced to prison in France for stealing rare books, including works by Alexander Pushkin.
According to Le Monde, they targeted prestigious libraries in Paris and Lyon.
The sentences range from 18 months suspended to seven years in prison.
The group included five men and one woman, convicted of organized theft of cultural property.
The damage is estimated at €770,000 (about $835,000).
They photographed pages, took measurements, and replaced originals with high-quality copies.
