Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has stated that any outside intervention in the Strait of Hormuz will further escalate the situation and will not help restore shipping.
Speaking at a joint press conference with his Iraqi counterpart Fuad Hussein, Araqchi warned that attempts to create parallel regulatory mechanisms would complicate the situation and increase tension.
According to Araqchi, shipping in the Strait of Hormuz could return to pre-war levels within 30 days if all obstacles are removed and all parties strictly adhere to the Iran-US memorandum.
Earlier, the US military struck Iranian territory. CENTCOM said the operation was a response to Iran's aggression against commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. In response, IRGC announced strikes with missiles and drones on key US military infrastructure in Kuwait and Bahrain.
