India-based Adani Enterprises has agreed to pay Washington $275 million to settle allegations of violating US sanctions against Iran.
According to Oxu.Az citing TASS, the US Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control announced the settlement. The company took this step to avoid potential litigation over non-compliance with sanctions.
The US claims that from November 2023 to June 2025, the company imported Iranian liquefied petroleum gas via a Dubai-based trader. The fuel was falsely labeled as originating from Oman and Iraq. US financial institutions processed 32 transactions totaling over $192 million involving Adani Enterprises.
Adani Enterprises is the flagship firm of Adani Group, a major Indian conglomerate operating in energy, agriculture, and defense. The group owns 14 private sea ports and seven airports in India.
