A landslide at an illegal gold mine in northwestern Angola has killed at least 28 people.
The accident occurred in Bengo province. Rescuers managed to save four people. Police confirmed all victims were men aged 18-40.
Witnesses said a large slab of earth suddenly collapsed and buried the mine. Search operations are ongoing. The number of missing persons remains unclear.
Heavy rains, which have been lashing the area for three days, triggered the landslide.
