Argentina's government is preparing to implement a "golden passport" program for wealthy foreigners who can bring investment to the country.
According to the Financial Times, the program grants citizenship to individuals investing approximately $500,000 or purchasing $1 million in government bonds.
The government believes this decision will help attract necessary funds to pay off national debt. The initiative is expected to take effect this year.
Former President Alberto Fernandes earlier stated that the country is in a difficult situation due to large external debt, partly caused by dependence on the US.
