Armenia's Central Election Commission (CEC) has reported that two election commission chairs and a secretary were detained on the night before the parliamentary election began.
Citing TASS, Oxu.Az reports that CEC Chairman Vahagn Ovakimyan stated at a press conference: "I know that the absence of two chairs and a secretary at polling stations is due to criminal proceedings. I was informed that they were detained during the night."
The next parliamentary election in Armenia started on June 7. A total of 18 political forces are participating: the ruling Civil Contract Party led by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, the opposition "Armenia" bloc led by Robert Kocharyan, and the "Strong Armenia" bloc led by Narek Karapetyan, among 16 parties and 2 blocs.
