A farmer who stabbed Hilal Isayev, the 61-year-old mayor of Pyatykhatky in Ukraine's Dnipropetrovsk region, has been detained.

Eldar Tagiyev, a diaspora activist living in Dnipro, said that Serkhan Ismayilov from the "League of Azerbaijanis of Dnipropetrovsk Region", diaspora activists Eldar Tagiyev and Parviz Aliyev, as well as our compatriots living in Kryvyi Rih, visited the hospital where Hilal Isayev is being treated.
"We visited our compatriot. Currently, Hilal Isayev is being treated in intensive care. Due to severe stab wounds, his treatment continues in intensive care for now," added Eldar Tagiyev.
A criminal case has been opened regarding the incident.
It is noted that Hilal Isayev was born in the village of Livedirge, Lerik district, and graduated from Dnipro State Agrarian and Economic University. He headed the private agricultural enterprise "Kaspi", and in 2015 was elected as a deputy of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council from the "Batkivshchyna" party. In 2019, Hilal Isayev ran for the 9th convocation of the Verkhovna Rada from the same party but was not elected. Since 2020, he has held the position of mayor of Pyatykhatky.
