The number of Azerbaijani citizens injured in a drone strike on a ship sailing under the flag of Palau in the Azov Sea has reached four.

According to Oxu.Az quoting APA, another injured person - the ship's boatswain Rashad Madatkhanov - has been admitted to the traumatology department of the Yeysk Central Hospital.

He is currently receiving treatment in the same ward as other injured individuals: Samid Ibadzade, Emin Valehov, and Namig Jafarli.

Reports indicate the injured have undergone medical re-examination. Emin Valehov has problems with his right ear, Namig Jafarli has hearing issues in both ears, and Rashad Madatkhanov suffered a head injury.

Law enforcement officials have met with the injured and taken their statements. Some details of the strike have emerged.

According to the injured, the ship's chief mechanic Gismat Aliyev sustained severe burns from the drone strike and died.

The ship's captain Fuad Orucov reportedly suffered a broken leg and was seriously injured. He was fitted with a life jacket and lowered into the water. Based on the victims' testimony, Fuad Orucov also died as a result of the incident.
