Former California gubernatorial candidate Barack Obama Show has filed to run in the 2028 US presidential election.
According to Oxu.Az, the New York Post reported the news.
Democrat Barack Obama Show gained attention during his California governor campaign in May due to his name's similarity to the 44th US president, Barack Obama. He was one of 61 candidates on the ballot but did not win.
Show previously ran for mayor of Alameda in the San Francisco Bay Area, garnering 16,522 votes (0.2% of the total).
Despite these setbacks, Show has set his sights on the US presidency and announced his candidacy.
The newspaper reports that he was born Cecil L. Show III but changed his name legally in 2013, inspired by former President Barack Obama. He calls his new name a symbol of hope.
"Obama made the impossible possible for people like me - he became President of the United States," Show said.
