A resort complex in Halle, Germany, has restricted access to its beach for individuals who do not have sufficient knowledge of the German language.
According to Oxu.Az, citing DPA agency, the resort manager Matthias Nobel stated that staff must ensure visitor safety and compliance with water area rules. If a language barrier arises during communication with a visitor, entry may be denied.
The decision was prompted by a recent incident where the director had to intervene as a lifeguard to rescue a child from deep water. Since the new rule took effect, several people have been denied entry.
Despite criticism, the resort management does not plan to reconsider the decision.
