A Chinese woman has been suffering for six years after a cosmetic eye surgery. She cannot fully close her eyes even when asleep.

Ms. Wang paid 12,000 yuan for the procedure in June 2020. The surgery was performed by a clinic's marketing director who had no medical license.

The surgery damaged her tear ducts and eyelids. A corrective surgery failed to fix the issues.

An expert assessment classified her trauma as ninth-degree disability. She suffers from depression and insomnia.

The court reached a settlement: the surgeon paid 850,000 yuan in compensation.

Later, the surgeon started insulting her online. Wang responded with videos, breaching the agreement. She now must pay a 400,000 yuan fine.

Wang warns: "Think twice before plastic surgery. It can lead to lifelong regret."
