Ice cream is a source of calcium and easily digestible protein, bringing pleasure and reducing stress levels.
According to Oxu.Az, Russian dietitian and candidate of medical sciences Olga Yamilova shared this in an interview with RIA Novosti.
The expert noted that milk and cream in this dessert contain beneficial substances. However, high amounts of sugar and animal fats diminish its apparent health benefits:
"Excessive animal fats and sugar overload the pancreas and liver, and also increase the risk of atherosclerosis."
Olga Yamilova added that these harmful components in ice cream lead to rapid weight gain (obesity). Additionally, mixtures of refined vegetable oils as substitutes for milk fat, stabilizers, and flavorings completely nullify the dessert's benefits.
