A boat has capsized in western Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), leaving at least 11 people dead and dozens missing.

According to Actualite portal, citing local authorities, the tragedy occurred on the Kwilu River near the town of Bagata.

The vessel was carrying 150 people. So far, 47 have been rescued and 11 bodies recovered. Search and rescue operations are ongoing.
