US President Donald Trump announced China's intention to buy 200 aircraft, causing Boeing shares to drop by 4.1%.
According to Oxu.Az, Reuters reported the news.
The decline is linked to the order size being significantly lower than expert forecasts. Analysts had hoped for larger orders from China.
This intensifies competition between Boeing and its European rival Airbus for the Chinese market, one of the world's largest and most promising. Airbus has already strengthened its position in China.
China continuously purchases passenger aircraft from both Boeing and other manufacturers to meet growing air transport demand. The country needs 1,000 new aircraft in the near future and at least 9,000 by 2045.
