Today, the official opening ceremony of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars (BTK) railway line after modernization is being held in Georgia.
The ceremony takes place at the Akhalkalaki railway and logistics complex. High-ranking officials from Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Turkey are attending.
Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze of Georgia, ministers, and other officials will deliver speeches. The symbolic launch and a video presentation are planned.
BTK is a joint strategic transport project of three countries. Modernization has increased annual cargo capacity from 1 million to 5 million tons.
Full operation of the line will expand the Middle Corridor's capabilities, boosting cargo volumes from China and Central Asia to Europe.
