OpenAI's ChatGPT app has surpassed 1 billion monthly active users worldwide.

According to analytics firm Sensor Tower, ChatGPT is the fastest app to reach this milestone.

Launched about three years ago, it outpaced the growth of platforms like Google Maps, TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube.

Sensor Tower's Q2 report also shows Claude has 56 million monthly active users, with a 640% year-over-year growth, significantly exceeding ChatGPT's 62% growth rate.
