A Chinese court has ordered Molly Tea, a tea producer, to pay 10.3 million yuan (approximately $1.5 million) in compensation to Louis Vuitton Malletier for trademark infringement.
According to Oxu.Az, this was reported by the online publication Fengmian. The Chinese company plans to appeal the decision.
The Suzhou city court found that the milk tea manufacturer and its subsidiary had violated exclusive rights to seven registered trademarks owned by Louis Vuitton Malletier.
Under the court ruling, 10 million yuan must be paid for economic damages to the French brand, along with 300,000 yuan (about $44,200) for legal costs. The store itself is also required to pay 100,000 yuan (approximately $14,700) in compensation. Additionally, Molly Tea must issue an official statement clarifying the trademark situation.
Recall that Louis Vuitton Malletier filed a lawsuit against Molly Tea in May 2025, citing similarities between the Chinese company's logo—featuring a four-petal flower shape—and Louis Vuitton's trademarked pattern.
