A court in Hubei province, China has ordered a 28-year-old woman to pay alimony to her biological father, who raped her mother.
The 64-year-old father, Liao, citing health issues and lack of income, demanded 1,500 yuan (about $210) monthly from his daughter, Lin. The initial court ruled she must pay 500 yuan (about $70) per month.
Lin argued she was born as a result of rape and that her father never fulfilled his parental duties. However, the appeals court stated there was insufficient evidence of rape and upheld the original ruling.
