A zoo in Anqiu, China, has painted a donkey with black and white stripes to make it look like a zebra.
According to "Need to Know" publication, the animal's fur was covered with black lines mimicking zebra stripes. However, its long ears and overall appearance quickly gave away the deception.
Photos shared on social media sparked widespread discussion. Viewers accused the zoo management of trying to pass off the animal as exotic.
Zoo officials responded that it was just a joke: "We never claimed it was a zebra. It's a cosplay action to entertain visitors." They added that similar experiments have been done with dogs in the past.
