A chemical tank explosion at the "Nippon Dynawave Packaging" pulp and paper plant in Longview, Washington, USA, has killed 11 workers, officials confirmed.
According to NBC News, citing local authorities, two bodies were initially found. The search for nine missing employees was later called off, and they were officially declared dead.
Ten people were injured, including one firefighter. The tank contained approximately 900,000 gallons (3.4 million liters) of white liquor, a chemical used in pulp production.
Experts estimate that over 340,000 liters of the chemical remain in the tank. The area remains unstable and hazardous to health.
