Doomsday plane gets $984M upgrade

The US Department of Defense (Pentagon) signed a contract worth $984 million to modernize the E-4B aircraft, known as the "Doomsday plane".

According to the Pentagon, the contract was awarded to Strategic Mission Systems.

The work is expected to be completed by June 24, 2037.
