Armenia's Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case against former deputy Andranik Tevanyan on charges of treason and espionage.
According to the committee, Tevanyan was recruited by foreign intelligence in 2024 while serving as a deputy.
He allegedly passed classified information for a substantial sum of $622,000.
The leaked information pertained to closed parliamentary hearings held in April 2024.
Prime Minister Pashinyan revealed the betrayal on May 20 during a campaign event.
