The European Union has extended sanctions against Russia until May 28, 2027.
According to Oxu.Az, the EU Council announced this in a statement on its official website on May 26.
The statement said: "On May 27, 2024, the EU adopted a decision on the sanctions regime. The regime has been extended until May 28, 2027."
Currently, sanctions apply to 72 individuals and one organization. Restrictions include travel bans, asset freezes, and prohibitions on providing financial resources.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen also stated that EU countries have started preparing the 21st sanctions package. Brussels has also approved €90 billion in financial aid for Ukraine.
