A powerful flood caused by heavy rain and hail in Turkey's Niğde province has resulted in one death and five injuries.
According to Oxu.Az citing TRT Haber, the incident occurred in the Gümüşler district. Three vehicles and six people were swept away by floodwaters. Rescue teams pulled them out and transported them to hospitals.
Sabiha Dinçer was taken to Niğde Ömer Halisdemir Training and Research Hospital but could not be saved. AFAD, health teams, gendarmerie, and municipality personnel continue search and rescue operations.
Governor Nedim Akmeşe stated that 39 vehicles, 13 specialized machines, and 216 personnel have been deployed. One injured person is still undergoing treatment, while four others are under observation. The cause and extent of damage are under investigation.
