Denmark's former Queen Margrethe II has been hospitalized with a diagnosis of heart failure.
The royal palace's press service announced that the 86-year-old former monarch will undergo medical supervision and further tests.
She will spend the weekend at the National Hospital in Copenhagen.
Queen Margrethe II abdicated on January 14, 2024, in favor of her son King Frederik X, after 52 years of reign. She was the first Danish monarch to voluntarily abdicate in nearly 900 years. Since abdication, she has retained the title of Her Majesty.
