An indictment has been prepared against Mehmet Akif Ersoy, former editor-in-chief of Habertürk TV, who was detained on December 9, 2025, as part of a drug operation targeting celebrities in Turkey.

According to NTV, the Istanbul Prosecutor's Office has concluded its investigation into the "Mehmet Akif Criminal Organization." The indictment includes 11 female victims.

The document states that the crimes were committed within an organized gang. Ersoy allegedly organized drug parties with associates from his social and work circles and used victims to satisfy his sexual desires.

The prosecutor seeks punishment for Ersoy on charges of establishing and managing a criminal organization, 11 counts of aggravated sexual assault, drug trafficking or supply, and facilitating drug use. Combined, the sentence requested ranges from 11 years 3 months to 286 years 2 months in prison.
