A 2-year-old girl returned from a daycare center in France heavily intoxicated. The incident occurred in the city of Senlis.

The prosecutor's office has launched an initial investigation after the child was hospitalized with severe alcohol poisoning.

Parents reported that they dropped their daughter off in the morning. In the afternoon, daycare staff called to say the girl "kept falling down."

At the hospital, a blood test revealed an alcohol level of 2.14 grams per liter. Medical staff determined the child was "completely drunk."

The daycare center has been temporarily closed. The child's condition is now satisfactory.
