German Chancellor Friedrich Merz was booed during a speech at the German Trade Union Confederation congress.
According to Oxu.Az, this was reported by the "Tagesschau" portal.
It was stated that Merz emphasized the need for large-scale social reforms. After reminding participants of government measures to reduce mandatory health insurance costs, they began booing him.
Merz also spoke about the pension reform planned for next summer. He called it the most difficult task and stressed it was not motivated by ill intent. This also caused discontent.
