A residential building in Görlitz, Germany, was completely destroyed by a domestic gas explosion.

According to "Bild", residents reported a loud blast, followed by the collapse of the building, leaving a large gap among historical structures.

Police and rescue services believe five people are trapped under the rubble.

Firefighters, police, heavy equipment, and specially trained dogs have been deployed. Mayor Octavian Ursu said the explosion is believed to have been caused by a gas leak.

All utility lines in the area have been shut off, and residents of three nearby buildings have been evacuated.
