A German Federal Police special forces officer died during a shooting exercise at a military training area in the federal state of Schleswig-Holstein.
According to Oxu.Az citing TASS, the Luebeck police department reported the incident.
The accident occurred at the Putlos training area near the city of Oldenburg. Police did not disclose details, only confirming that the officer was fatally injured during live-fire training.
Luebeck police and prosecutors have launched an investigation. Preliminary results suggest the incident was an accident.
The Putlos military range lies directly on the Baltic Sea coast and covers an area of over 1,200 hectares. In addition to conventional weapons training, it also tests artillery, anti-tank munitions, and air defense systems. The facility is used by both regional and federal police.
