The United States has changed the rules for obtaining a Green Card.
According to Oxu.Az, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) issued a statement.
It is now impossible to apply for a Green Card while staying in the United States.
The Trump administration will require individuals who are in the U.S. and have applied for a Green Card to leave the country. They will only be allowed to re-enter after their application has been reviewed and a decision has been made.
This could radically change the lives of hundreds of thousands of people seeking legal permanent residency and work rights in the U.S.
Local authorities say the decision was made due to people working illegally in the country.
USCIS representative Zak Kaler said that exceptions are possible in emergency situations: "When foreigners apply for a Green Card from their home country, we are not forced to search for them in the U.S. This is a method of combating illegal migration".
It is worth noting that last April, Trump stated that the country needed a "bold justice system" to implement strict immigration policies.
