The number of pilgrims traveling to Saudi Arabia for Hajj has exceeded 860,000.
According to Oxu.Az, the Anadolu Agency reported this, citing Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah.
Speaking at a press conference, the minister said that over 820,000 of the pilgrims who have entered the country so far used air transportation.
He noted that the number arriving via land border crossings has exceeded 35,000, while those traveling by sea are over 4,000.
Minister Al-Rabiah added that more than 240,000 pilgrims entered the country under the "Makkah Route" initiative, which aims to facilitate border and customs procedures for pilgrims.
