The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) struck Hezbollah targets in the Dahiyeh district of Beirut in response to fire from Lebanon.
According to TASS, citing Netanyahu's office, the strikes were ordered by PM Netanyahu and Defense Minister Katz.
The statement said the IDF hit terrorist targets of Hezbollah after Israeli territory was attacked from Lebanon.
Israel warned it will not tolerate attacks on its territory and will continue to respond.
