India has sent a formal request to France for the procurement of 114 Rafale multirole fighter jets to strengthen its Air Force.
The request, valued at approximately $38.9 billion, was submitted between May 25 and 31. Delivery terms are expected to be finalized by 2027.
Previously, India had signed contracts for 36 Rafale jets under an urgent procurement program. The new acquisition is part of a larger modernization strategy for its aging fleet.
