The Israeli military detected missiles launched from Iranian territory. The IDF press service reported this.
Air raid sirens sounded in large parts of northern Israel, including the Haifa area. Air defense systems were activated to neutralize the missiles.
The Israeli army later announced that all missiles launched by Iran were intercepted. However, new launches were reportedly detected.
Israel's state broadcaster "Kan" quoted government officials saying Tel Aviv is preparing to respond to the attack. "We will respond to Iran's missile launches," officials said.
Iran stated that the attack was a warning. Military advisor to the Supreme Leader Mohsen Rezaei said: "The missile strikes are a warning for Israel to stop its attacks on Lebanon."
Commander of the Iranian Armed Forces Ali Abdullahi called on Israel to cease strikes on southern Lebanon and Beirut's Dahieh district. He warned that if Israel expands attacks or responds, it will face stronger blows.
