Iran's Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf stated that the main goal of negotiations with the US is not to normalize relations, but to stop war and ensure security in the Middle East.

"Our goal is to end the war and ensure long-term security, not to normalize relations with the US. At the same time, we do not trust the other side," Ghalibaf said.

He added that according to Iran's approach, the country is either at war or negotiating, but these two processes can proceed in parallel in some cases.

Ghalibaf also emphasized that the joint actions of the US and Israel increase tension in the region.

It is worth noting that in recent days, tensions have escalated in the Middle East amid mutual rocket attacks between Israel and Iran.
