Iranian military forces have struck US naval positions in Bahrain with drones, according to Iran's Press TV.

"In response to enemy actions, the naval forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps conducted a drone attack at 2:30 AM against the 5th Fleet in Bahrain," the statement said.

The IRGC also announced strikes on several US bases in the region. Official reports state that two water tanks were destroyed and a telecommunications tower was damaged as a result of US attacks.

Iran's air force struck US military bases in the Middle East. "Four important targets were destroyed, including hangars for F-35 fighters and a US command and control center in Jordan's Az-Zubayd area," the IRGC said.

Iran claims to have hit a total of 21 targets and neutralized an MQ9 drone. The US, however, stated that the majority of Iranian missiles and drones were intercepted in the air.
